In the context of the federal election, two representatives from Les Pollués de Montréal-Trudeau recently met Mélanie Joly, Liberal candidate in the riding of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. The welcome Madame Joly gave Antoine Bécotte and Raymond Prince, President and Principal Director of Les Pollués respectively, was more than cordial. The meeting took nearly an hour. Madame Joly acknowledged, having lived it for herself during her campaign, that aircraft flying over the territory generated significant noise.

The two administrators of Les Pollués gave her a full picture of the situation, both as to the continued deterioration the sound environment that had occurred in recent years, and the passivity of Aéroports de Montreal in improving the situation.

At this private meeting, Madame Joly committed to work with citizens’ groups and competent authorities to reduce nuisance related to aircraft noise in Ahuntsic-Cartierville.
