Town of Mont-Royal, September 6th, 2018. Town of Mount-Royal’s local committee of Les Pollués de Montréal-Trudeau met at the TMR library to deposit their donations as part of the fundraising campaign for the LPDMT. This committee successfully convinced their municipal council of the importance of supporting this organization that works to make known and recognize airport nuisances. “We hope the residents of TMR will be generous and will help LPDMT reach its goal of $10,000, says Ms. Poulin-Dubois, membre of this committee”.
Donation boxes are available to the townies in their library, recreation center and city hall thanks to the support of the mayor of TMR, Mr. Philippe Roy, to whom LPDMT reiterate their sincere thanks. Donations can also be made online on their website at LPDMT.org
Les Pollués de Montréal-Trudeau citizens collective (LPDMT) has been incorporated as a non-profit organization since 2013, The collective commenced a class action lawsuit on September 22, 2016. This motion to institute a class action was heard by the Honourable Justice Chantal Tremblay in Quebec Superior Court on November 20 and 21, 2017 and was authorized by a judgment of April 5, 2018, and claims mainly, in addition to compensatory damages for excessive noise, modern management of the environmental impacts of the activities of the Montreal-Trudeau Airport, an epidemiological study and the application a strict curfew. All monies collected will be used to cover the costs of the class action.
