We need your support so we can purchase and install 10 noise measuring stations in Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Mont-Royal, Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension and Saint Laurent.
These monitoring stations will allow us to record the frequency and decibel level – dB (A) – produced by aircraft passing overhead, both night and day. The stations record the ambient noise by means of a sound sensor, and relay the information to a server which, using special software, analyses the noise to identify that made by aircraft. The information obtained is made publicly available on the internet by means of graphs, and daily, weekly, and monthly, etc. statistics are compiled.
In this way we will demonstrate to our elected representatives that we are suffering serious harm, and that they must act firmly so that the managers of Montreal-Trudeau Airport more strictly control the pollution generated by the equipment belonging to the community.
Eventually, data from the monitoring stations will also allow us to identify the airlines and planes responsible for this problem.
Are you tired of the infernal noise of planes disrupting your daily life? You can now support a citizens’ initiative and contribute to the extent you are able.
Thank you.
